VIDEOHELPER WRITER’S STRIKE RUINS NEW LIBRARY’S RELEASE!

November 9, 2007

The release of VideoHelper’s newest library, MODULES, has been eclipsed.

In a show of solidarity with the Writer’s Guild of America, the entire staff of VideoHelper has decided to strike.

“Starting a Union is not easy,” a VH press release stated.  “The Union faces opposition everywhere:  Big business.  Government intervention.  And of course, the Confederacy.   But the last time the Union and the Confederacy fought, it was a long time ago – because Matthew Broderick was working and Atlantis was burned to the ground.”

“The Confederacy is bad.  They support slavery and banjos.  And although we really like the General Lee, how can a car run your army?  That’s why they lost.”

“Now, if we had to choose a talking car to run our army, we’d have taken K.I.T.T.   He would’ve been a much better choice.  The General Lee didn’t have missiles, did it?  Sure, David Hasselhoff’s substance abuse issues would’ve prevented him from driving, but he’d be all like “KITT, let’s stop those guys from breaking up our strike,” and K.I.T.T. would be all like “Okay, Michael.”  And KA-BOOM!”

Several pages later, the press release continues: “Our list of demands is simple:  We want more free time.  That’s why this strike is so important.  We will continue to strike for what we believe in – which is that now that we’re striking, we have much more free time.  We have overcome.  Free at last!  Free at last!”

In a smaller press announcement that, in contrast, was not scrawled in crayon, VideoHelper also released this earlier this week:

“The storytelling power of music.

The chair-staining might of organic sound design.

Introducing our newest library: MODULES: Adventures in Narrative Sound Design.

It’s all about telling stories.  Each Module immediately invokes a mood, builds to emotional/sonic extremes and suggests visuals, providing a creative catalyst for producers and editors.  MODULES also acts as a library of editable modular hits, rises, transitions + beds that can used interchangeably to create entirely unique, multi-layered soundscapes.

This new release includes an entirely new disc of material, MODULES Three.  MODULES discs One and Two are re-issues of existing VideoHelper discs 25 and-a-half and 30 and-a-half.

These first discs are being delivered to all qualified clients this week.  If you’re not a qualified client, you’ve obviously done something to piss us off.

Look for new MODULES releases in the future.

Hopefully by then we can stop capitalizing it.
